We are a community of people who meet in Clarendon Park, Leicester, committed to learning Jesus, loving Jesus and his church, and living Jesus’ call on our lives.
God Centred
We want to be God-centred in all we do.
We believe that God has entered our world in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ, to call people everywhere to new life and a loving relationship with himself. Jesus is the one who has brought us together as a church family, and it’s our deepest desire as a church to know him and to find life and joy in him.

Bible Based
We are committed to listening to God as he speaks to us through his word by his Spirit. We believe God has revealed himself in the Bible – both Old and New Testaments. Every word was inspired by God through human authors, so that the Bible as originally given is the Word of God. Therefore, the Bible speaks with final authority for our life as a church, and we seek to listen to it, understand it and live our lives in the light of it.

Loving Family
We work hard at being a loving family in our life together. One of the greatest privileges of the Christian life is to be able to call God our loving heavenly Father, and other Christians our brothers and sisters in Christ. We want our identity as God’s family to stand at the heart of our life together – as we love one another, serve alongside one another, bear with and forgive one another, and spur one another on in our love and service of God.

Reaching Out
We are committed to reaching out to the peoples of Clarendon Park and beyond with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that all people need a relationship with God, and in order for that to happen they need to hear the good news about Jesus’ death for our sins, and his resurrection for our hope. We believe that a vital part of our life together is to serve, love and speak in the name of Christ, so that through us, people may trust Christ and find the joy of salvation.

Everyone Involved
We believe every believer has a part to play at Avenue if we are to know God and make him known in our city. The church is the body of Christ, and we believe God calls us to serve one another, using in love the gifts God has given us for the good of the church and of our world. In order for any of us to grow more like Jesus, we need to live in close community with other believers.
